Call for Applications: 15th Eastern European Academy for Social Democracy

The FES Regional Office “Dialogue Eastern Europe” is pleased to invite young professionals from the Eastern Partnership region and Germany to apply for the 15th Eastern European Academy for Social Democracy, titled:

“Navigating the Path to the EU: Experiences from the Region”

As the European Union reaffirms its commitment to enlargement, the Academy brings together emerging leaders from across the region to explore the challenges, opportunities, and transformative power of the EU perspective. What does meaningful European integration look like — not just politically, but socially, economically, and institutionally?

This year, the Academy takes place in Moldova and Romania, offering a comparative look at two countries at different stages of their EU journeys. Through discussions with political leaders, civil society, and policy experts, participants will gain first-hand insights into democratic reform, the EU accession process, and regional cooperation.

What to Expect

  • In-depth discussions with experts, MPs, and civil society leaders in Moldova and Romania
  • Visits to national institutions and ministries
  • Focus sessions on EU enlargement, public trust, disinformation, and cross-border solidarity
  • Networking with fellow young professionals from the EaP region and Germany
  • Travel from Chisinau to Bucharest, tracing the EU path across borders

Why Participate?

This Academy is about more than learning — it’s about engaging with real-world politics, exchanging regional experiences, and building a community of progressive thinkers. Whether you're active in politics, civil society, or academia, this is your chance to:
